The Book of Azar

Raven's powers tend to be variable in both type and power, and one of the main abilities associated both with her comic and her animated (where I draw from) counterpart, is Empathy. That is, the ability to sense and project emotions. It's never truly defined easily, and there are a few different manifestations of it.

What this means:
--Roughly, she can sense emotions unless people are blocking them.
--With a person's permission, she can establish a bond with them, and enter their mind and help them heal from within, or see what they see.
--She can heal most minor injuries, and some major-to-make-them-minor injuries. This is mostly done by taking the pain/injury on herself with her Empathy, to speed their healing. (No, it's not clear how this is done without hurting her--but it doesn't seem to.)
--She can pain-block, with her empathy, to keep a person from feeling pain.

World Information:
Teen Titans seems to be set in a world very similar to our own but for the presence of super-heroes, magic, Atlantis, and advanced technologies and science that goes along with it. Early 21th century United States of America metropolitan city (fictional--Jump City) with all the conveniences and hazards that come with it. Super-Heroes and Super-villains exist, as do aliens and monsters, with very rare reality-warping.
Raven herself was born and grew up in another dimension along with her mother Arella, who fled there from Earth while pregnant.

Personality:
Raven is an Empath in addition to being raised by pacifistic monks (and with an awareness of what her 'destiny' is supposed to be.) She's quiet and keeps to herself, often as a way of shielding herself from others, and maintaining her own control over herself. Her control over her powers respond to her emotions, so she's trained herself growing up to be calm and steady, if somewhat snarky and sarcastic at moments. Thanks to the Titans, she's learning to open up more in small ways, joining in with some of their group activities (foot ball in the park) and occasionally--rarely--in a prank as revenge.
She's a private person, and often hides how she feels about things beyond a sarcastic quip as a means of deflection. In truth, she cares very deeply for her friends and wants very much to be a good person and do good. She has a temper that can be very very nasty when provoked, which is another reason she does her best to keep herself calm and controlled.
She does not enjoy being scared or provoked to express great shows of emotion, even if they're happy ones. She is also more likely to shut-nonsense (like pranks) down if she can't just avoid them outright. Her ideal for socializing often seems to be quiet company with a small group of trusted people. They don't even have to be doing the same thing, but just being a part of the group, while in her own little corner, is fine.

Main Motivation:
Her main motivation is protecting others; even though she isn't sure she can fight her destiny, she still does her best to try and do good and help others. Maybe it'll 'make up' for some of the harm she does, and maybe it's because she really doesn't WANT to be used for evil purposes.

Her small item would be her blue-hooded cloak with dark-red gem closure. The gem seems to have a silhouette of a raven within. Even if Raven would have a 'hoody' as part of the uniform--it won't offer the same kind of protection and comfort that her own billowing and enveloping cloak will.
